Everybody knows that Japanese cuisine wouldn’t be what it is without rice. Did you know, though, how many rice varieties of rice there are and how they differ? To find answers to these questions, we visited Pearl Rice Factory in Anjo City, Aichi. We learned about the process of turning rough rice grains into the ready-to-cook white rice we find in our supermarkets. There was also some-rice tasting so that we could try different varieties of rice and evaluate their aroma, taste, and stickiness. What a delicious trip it was!
